Prague Pride 2013

Prague has been voted the most gay-friendly city of central and Eastern Europe, as most Czechs are free thinkers and less judgmental about feelings for people of the same sex. No wonder, Prague Pride, confirms its status as the biggest LGBT festival in the region. The city’s tolerant attitude towards gays, lesbians and transgender people will be most evident in the parade, taking place from August 12-18.

To celebrate the basic rights and liberties of homosexuals, same sex couples and other minorities, the pride organizers are putting together a wide range of radical events. Visitors will be treated to seven days of quality entertainment, exhibitions, concerts, debates and theatre at various venues in Prague. These beautiful days will finally culminate in a parade and the concert on Saturday the 17th of August. Several international stars and entertainers are expected to join the parade including DJs such as Danny Verde. A number of Czech and foreign artists will also perform at the concert, among which are Love Affair sound system and Hercules from NY, United States.

The Prague Pride’s this year’s theme is “Let our colours out”. The spotlight will be on coming out as gay in the in the workplace, in politics and in different facades of life. The purpose is to make people understand that coming out in the open is difficult for a homosexual and he needs supports from the society to do so.
