Opera Barocca

The Opera Barocca, a traditional summer cycle of baroque soirées, is an event organized by the Institute of Baroque Culture in cooperation with Carnevale Prague, to enact the finest Baroque operas and ballets for the entertainment of Pražans.

Top Czech artists, specializing in Baroque music shall perform at the event, enthralling one and all with their dazzling performance of arias, dances and ballets.

What makes this festival unusual is the setting and their approach to music, dance, and theatre. Emphasis on the use of authentic historical costumes, choreography, make-ups and Baroque gesture takes the performance to a completely different level. Even the realism of place, stage sets and props to match the Baroque period is crucial for Opera Barocca.

The performance of Opera Barocca will light up the stage from 16th August 2013 until 8th September 2013.
